“Prior to my wedding, I sought diet and fitness counseling to ensure I felt my best on my wedding day. Mandy was extremely helpful in making sure I reached my goals. Her plan was well thought out, strategic, and offered various options to incorporate into my busy schedule The meals were incredible as I often find myself at the grocery store lost in a daze as to what to eat for each meal. The workouts were challenging, but not overwhelming. At the time I was working two jobs so I had limited time in my schedule and she was able to make them brief and effective! “In July 2019 I had a major elective surgery. I knew about two years in advance that I would be having this surgery. I have the BRCA 1 gene mutation which leaves me at approximately 80%+ chance of developing breast cancer. So I had a mastectomy and reconstruction. In order to be as strong as possible going into the surgery I started seeing Mandy weekly/bi-weekly. I have always been pretty strong but working out at a gym was really intimidating. I never learned how to use any weights or machines, so I always felt relegated to cardio machines or classes. When Mandy started bringing me into the weight area I was excited and terrified. I didn’t think I belonged there. I didn’t think I was strong enough. I was certain I’d injure myself, or worse, embarrass myself. Mandy really helped though! She helped me build up my strength, she showed me how to use weights and how to make adjustments depending on my strength and ability and she pushed me to get stronger. I was super bummed to have to stop going to the gym when quarantine started in March 2020, especially since I felt like I was making good progress in my training and I didn’t want to lose those gains. I followed Mandy into some online training spaces, and used what she taught me to help build up my home gym and my strength-training skills. Now I have a little motivation from Mandy each week, a beautiful home gym that I use every day, and my strength and endurance are improving every single day. Without Mandy’s help and training I would definitely not have the strength and confidence to train that I have now.
